Cattle drive in the Gsiesertal valley

The days here in the Gsiesertal valley are getting shorter and the nights cooler as autumn draws ever closer.

Then it’s time for the animals to come down from the alpine pastures back into the valley. Here in Gsies, this is celebrated with the cattle drive and the traditional Kirchtagsfest festival.

This year, the cattle drive will take place on 12 October. The animals are festively decorated and driven down from the alpine pastures by the farmers.

The whole event is accompanied by the church festival. Typical delicacies are served, accompanied by Tyrolean music.
