Freedom, tranquility & nature – your most beautiful winter in South Tyrol.
Two wheels, countless routes and a wealth of landscapes to explore.
Here, you experience nature with every pedal stroke – those who venture out discover forests, meadows and their own inner strength. A sense of perspective and clear vision always ride along. Our MTB & E-Bike Hotel in the Val Casies offers the perfect starting point: whether with family, your partner or solo – you can look forward to wide tracks, gentle climbs, safe routes and ideal conditions for relaxed cycling days.
Whether by e-bike or mountain bike, the Val Casies is wonderful to explore on two wheels. Most mountain huts are easily reachable by e-bike; only a few narrow paths and the Talblick trail are reserved for hikers. Our tip for those who love both: Bike & Hike. First pedal, then conquer the summit on foot. Two adventures in one.
Legend:
The Laghi di Ochsenfeld are not well known; few people come here. Those who climb through the Valle di Karbach can feel it: the route is long, the landscape quiet, nature close. With an e-bike, the route is pleasantly manageable – especially the access via the Malghe di Ochsenfeld is easy to ride. Here, you leave your bikes behind, and on foot you follow trail no. 42 to the Forcella di Grübl, then continue on trail no. 9 steeply up to the ipper Laghi di Ochsenfeld (about two hours from the Malghe di Ochsenfeld).
Saddle up directly at the hotel and ride via San Martino eastwards into the upper Val Casies. A forest road marked no. 44 leads in gentle bends uphill to the Maso Außerhütten and on to the Malga Versell. Afterwards, the route becomes flatter – perfect for catching your breath – and it then leads directly to the Rifugio Randl. There you’ll find cool drinks, South Tyrolean specialities and a view as reinvigorating as the break itself.
The Pusteria cycle path can be explored in stages – from the Val Casies to Brunico, or further on to San Candido. The route to San Candido is a real classic: it passes charming villages, small natural wonders and sights worth stopping for. Those keen on a longer ride can even continue on to Lienz in East Tyrol – and return comfortably by train. A lovely alternative for those who prefer a circular route: from the Val Casies to Valente, via Fondega – and back to Santa Maddalena. A varied route full of scenic highlights.
